Sip & Taste During Craft Beer Cookbook Signing, 9/16

Obviously, we’re crazy about beer. And we love food. And we love beer and food together. Author John Holl shares our enthusiasm and has just released his new book, The American Craft Beer Cookbook, and we’re in it! Join us Monday, AmericanCraftBeerSeptember 16th from 4-6pm as he stops at Standing Stone during his book tour and enjoy free samples of Standing Stone beer and food, and an opportunity to purchase your own signed copy.

This original recipe book features over 150 breweries, brewpubs, chefs and beer-centric restaurants. Dishes are either made with craft beer or paired with craft beer, as the author firmly believes a good brew can make a better team with fine food than even wine. Standing Stone Brewing and Caldera Brewery proudly represent Southern Oregon with recipes highlighting fantastic beer flavors and matching.

For Monday’s event, our sous chef, Javier Cruz-Paso, is whipping up his Mole Sauce from the book and serving samples alongside our Steel-Cut Stout. We think the roasted chocolate and earthy flavors in both these creations make a mouth-watering match. Standing Stone Brewmaster Larry Chase also suggests trying the mole sauce with our Twin Plunge Double IPA to contrast the earthiness of the sauce with fruitiness of the brew. Come learn how to find that perfect pint of craft beer to beautifully complement, contrast with, or enhance the flavors on your plate. And if Monday’s event gets your brain moving in the pairing direction, come join us on Sunday at 3pm for a local-themed Beer & Food Pairing led by our own in-house guru, Mike Nelson. The five course sampler is $25 per person and will give you even more inspiration for creating your own ideal pairings at home.
