Latest Specialty Beer: Farmer Brown Ale

Farmer Brown Ale makes a return to the taps as our latest seasonal brew. With the holidays are in full swing, come treat yourself to a pint and toast one with your friends and loved ones.

A bit of background: Brown Ales originated in London about 300 years ago. Today, Brown Ale is a general term brown ale chalkboardencompassing beers ranging from dark amber to deep brown in color, and can be sweet, malty, or bitter. Our in-house version leans toward the lighter-bodied end of the spectrum, with a hoppy American-style finish.

About the Beer

Our newest seasonal sports a chestnut color and toasted aroma of graham cracker. The light-to-medium body and biscuit flavors are followed by a slightly dry and nutty finish, with a mild bitterness. 4.6% abv, 25 IBU

Malt

Food Pairing

This medium intensity beer matches well with menu items in the same realm. To complement flavors, look for food items with toasted bread attributes and nuttiness. Roasted beef and pork work well with Brown Ale, as do nutty cheeses like Gruyere and Asiago. Here are our suggestions from our menu:

Papardelle alla Bolognese (Beef Ragu)

Goat Cheese Fondue with Sourdough Skewers

Cobb Salad

Quinoa Nut Burger

Organic Tempeh Skewers

Beef Flautas

Take some home for house-party celebrations, or enjoy by yourself with a warm, toasty meal. A growler bottle of ale to-go makes a great belated Christmas gift if you still have people on your list. We hope to see you here with a pint in your hand soon!
